Traditional, family-style meals to be distributed Wednesday at 35 Lowe’s stores in New York, New Jersey
WHAT: As part of our continuing efforts to support communities affected by Hurricane Sandy, Lowe’s will provide more than 22,000 free grab-and-go, heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meals for residents of the communities hardest hit by the storm.
Lowe’s will provide Boston Market family-style meals. Each meal includes fresh roasted turkey or ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet corn and rolls. The fully cooked dinners will be distributed at 35 Lowe’s stores in New York and New Jersey on a first-come, first-served basis (stores listed below).
Each store location will have approximately 500 meals to provide the local community. In addition, all Lowe’s employees in these stores will receive a meal as a thank you for their dedication before, during and after the storm. More than $1 million worth of food will be distributed during Wednesday’s events.
Food continues to be a critical need for many people affected by Hurricane Sandy. With each meal serving about six people, Lowe’s will provide enough Thanksgiving dinners to feed more than 136,000 people in the impacted communities.
In addition, Table Talk Pies of Worcester, Mass., donated more than 43,000 pies to be included in meals.
