Iris’ open platform offers consumers wide range of connected home devices for peace of mind wherever they are and whenever they want it
MOORESVILLE, N.C., Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ – Lowe’s Companies, Inc. will unveil the latest wave of products and services for its smart home solution, Iris™, at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas. From a water shut-off valve that cuts supply when a leak is detected to a voice control feature, Lowe’s will showcase a variety of connected home devices to make the home safer and more efficient.
Since its debut in July 2012, Iris has delivered the vision of the smart home to consumers by making home automation simple, affordable and scalable. Consumers can customize systems with a wide breadth of connected home devices to monitor and control their homes from a single, easy-to-use interface.

Iris’s newest product features, along with its expansive vendor relationships with brands consumers know and trust such as First Alert, Honeywell, Schlage, and Whirlpool, aim to deliver on the promise of the smart home today. The new Iris features will help consumers make their homes safer, more energy efficient and more easily managed; they include water shut-off valves that cut supply when a leak is detected, smart sprinkler systems to manage water consumption, the ability to link to smart meters to make energy consumption visible, additional energy saving devices and more convenient ways to program the home including a voice control feature, iVee, and universal garage door openers.
Since Iris’s launch, Lowe’s has broadened its offering, introduced a new connected home section in stores, and completed a nationwide rollout of products—creating a one-stop-shop for the connected home.
During the 2014 International CES, Lowe’s will demonstrate new products and features and highlight partnerships daily at its booth located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Meeting Room S115.
Lowe’s is also hosting an intimate panel on the future of smart home and its part in the Internet of Things, featuring Kevin Meagher and executives from LG, Samsung and Verizon, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at the Lowe’s booth. The panel will be moderated by Bruce Upbin, managing editor of Forbes, and will begin promptly at 4:15 p.m. PT, with conversation and refreshments following. RSVP is required.
